Virbac has partnered with the MapMyWalk fitness app on a free campaign encouraging dog owners to track walks with their pets. The initiative, announced on August 28, 2026, ties walking milestones to discounts on the company's canine mobility supplements.
According to Virbac, more than half of dogs aged seven and older experience muscle atrophy and joint or muscle changes that affect their quality of life. The campaign aims to promote activity as a component of joint health.
Campaign challenges and rewards
Two separate walking challenges are being offered through the MapMyWalk app. Each requires participants to log activities like walking, running, or hiking with their dog. The challenges, their dates, and their rewards are detailed below.
| Challenge Name | Dates | Goal | Reward for Completion |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dog Days of Summer | Through September 27, 2026 | Log 10 activities, hitting 5 milestones | Discount code for URSOLYX Soft Chews for Dogs (upon completing 4 milestones) |
| Fall Flex | October 13 to November 12, 2026 | Complete activities to hit milestones | Discount code for MOVOFLEX Advanced Soft Chews (upon completing 4 milestones) |
Participation is free for all MapMyWalk users across the United States. No additional cost is required beyond access to the app itself.
Promoting shared activity
In a statement, Mark Champ, vice president of marketing for Virbac US, linked daily movement to pet health. "Movement is a powerful indicator of a pet's health, and it's something dogs and their owners share every day," Champ said. He stated the partnership's goal is to encourage pet owners to "make every walk count, for their dog's mobility and their own."
The campaign, named the Keep Moving Activation, directly connects in-app walking achievements to Virbac's supplement products. The company markets URSOLYX and MOVOFLEX as supports for canine joint and muscle health.
Practical logistics for pet owners
The initiative is structured as a consumer promotion. It requires owners to use the GPS-based MapMyWalk app to record their activities with their dog. The company's announcement did not specify the value of the discount codes offered upon challenge completion.
The campaign is currently active, with the first challenge running for several more weeks. Virbac's partnership with the fitness app represents a direct marketing effort tied to pet wellness and owner engagement.
